With a background in Creative Arts and traditional Floristry, Julia established Wild Gorse Studio in the Scottish Highlands in 2015 to explore something more organic and liberate her compositional skills as a floral art form.
Inspired by the wild beauty of these surroundings, foraged and locally sourced botanicals became a vital element of her work, distilling a sense of timelessness and place into the aesthetic alchemy and natural forms that she creates.
In 2017, Wild Gorse Studio took on premises in the old town centre of Inverness, initially as a pop-up retail space and later as a teaching space and the main creative studio for the business. This space has now closed as we get set to relocate to our new studio space at Belladrum Estate, opening in Spring 2019.
We are passionate about sharing the folk heritage of flowers with others through transferring skills and knowledge and cultivating an understanding of the raw sensuality of nature. Our new studio will focus on teaching and creating a space for inspiration and creativity… we look forward to welcoming you.
